IPE Spring 2007

Hi all. I will look forward to reading comments on Wolf, Stiglitz, Singer, and any related current events in the coming days. Please let me know if you have questions.

Have a look at this, for a quick overview of Thomas Friedman's The World is Flat. Done only the way Jon can...

Watched the interview with Friedman, and it was much less painful than reading the 600 page book (and yet he still manages to make the same point...)

I've always had a problem with his jumping from a "flat" world to a "level" world. To me, they're two completely different concepts. I actually think that portions of Friedman's "The World is Flat" illustrate how unequal and "un-flat" (if you interpret 'flat' to mean 'level') this world is.
