Today's column - if you read closely enough - reflects not only a discussion of the Federal Reserve's preoccupations today, but also has echoes of the 1896 presidential election. It can be interesting to compare and contrast the late 1800s - 1930s period with the contemporary Great Recession.
History doesn't repeat itself, but it does rhyme.
